What to look for in a stay

Setting first
Notice whether the property sits downtown, on water, in open country or against a mountain line. Setting shapes the whole day outside the room.

Category and class
Hotel, resort hotel or casino designation tells you how the house is organised. Star class is the supplier’s own label — we report it, we do not invent another.

Public space
Ask how lobbies, gaming floors and guest wings relate. Age-restricted areas, where they exist, sit apart from sleeping floors for a reason.
